I know girls, and boys, like nice, long hair, but sometimes, you see a girl go over the top. I can’t help imagining how she dare to take care of it, like shampooing and drying it.

Global warming is one of the big issue that we have to work on seriously and react immediately. But unfortunately, I don’t see any change in our life. Inside of the building I am working is always too cold because of AC. Sometimes I have to turn on a heater in summer. Crazy!

My mom is a good cook and she made most of dishes from scratch.
When I was a kid, at midnight, I went down to the kitchen to drink water and witnessed her standing there with a knife and her hands covered with blood. That was scary scene. Actually my mother was cooking fish. She always tried to cook material as it was still fresh, so sometimes she kept cooking till midnight preparing dishes for the next day dinner.
Then I though woman is a mysterious creature. She normally looks nice with good dress and makeup, tender and soft, but at the same time, she is fine with this kind of bloody activity, even doing it at midnight alone!
Well, this lady here is not my mom but she is certainly related to the memory of her.

There are many fashionable ladies around the city. Sometimes they remind me of something else with their fashions and appearances. Here are some examples…

I found this cool hat at flea market and fell in love with it.( but didn’t buy…) Then, I imagined it would be nice if a tap dancer put it on.

05.21.09 / a seductive woman, Manon Lescaut

When I read Manon Lescaut in my college class, ( in French!) I though how stupid this guy, Chevallier Des Griex, was.
But I was attracted by the craziness of this story and power of the famme fatal.
Recently, I had a chance to see the opera and re-read the book again. Then got inspiration to create my own version of Manon. Here is the bitch! (Oops! No, No, I like her!)
If you haven’t read it, you can read it here online.

04.14.09 / Luxury ethical fashion from Tibet
illustration / Comments: (3)
I read an article of some fashion brand and found that it was a quite nice story.
They produce knits made from luxury yak fiber and introduce those items in the world high fashion market. This animal, yak, only lives around the region of Himalaya in Western China, where poor Tibetan people keep their traditional lifestyle.
The purpose of this company is to support Tibetans and help them to earn a long-term sustainable living by trading the yak down with their company directly.

I always look for a nice and cozy cafe because I love to work in there to refresh my mind. Since I moved in to this area (Jackson Heights, Queens), I hadn’t had enough time to roam around the new neighborhood. Today was a perfect day, not cold anymore, to search it around, and I found several good ones. This is the one of them, small Italian bakery cafe. So I took a sheet there, in a spot filled with bright sunlight, then drew this sketch.

03.04.09 / Fast Food Victims
illustration / Comments: (3)
I read this book, Fast Food Nation, a while ago and then, witnessed on Youtube how animals are treated so badly.
It was so shocking as to make me feel angry and sad about this wasting world of consumerism.
But ,at the same time, eating meats sounds more natural to me as a human being because we have been eating meats since the ice age. The problem is that the ways those meats are produced are wrong in US, and they are not safe enough to eat anymore because of the artificial procedure to make foods. And some people are making huge profit out of killing and abusing animals.
Is there any way to make this world better? As long as there are some people who eat meats, those companies keep wasting animals’ lives. Is it the only way to become a vegetarian to fight against this fast food industries?
It’s hard for me to find an answer…
